DONATION PROCESS

For your first plasma donation appointment, you should plan to spend about 1.5 hours at the donor center. During this time, your blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and weight will be checked while you wait. You will also meet with a healthcare provider who will explain the plasmapheresis process and ask you the required donor questions. Additionally, a doctor will perform a physical examination and inquire about your medical history. Basic lab procedures, such as a urinalysis, may also be performed.

When it is time for you to donate, a nurse or phlebotomist will insert an IV into your arm to collect the necessary plasma. Throughout the donation process, a nurse will monitor you to ensure your safety. The amount of plasma you can donate depends on your weight, but a full donation typically does not exceed 880 mL.

After you finish donating, your blood will be separated in a centrifuge to extract the plasma from the red blood cells. You will then receive your red blood cells back, along with saline to replace the lost fluid. Monetary compensation will be provided after you donate, and further donations will be scheduled.

For subsequent visits, plan on spending approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour at the donor center. During these visits, you will have your vital signs and weight checked, answer required donor questions, and have a finger prick to test your protein and iron levels. The plasma donation process is the same as the first appointment, and you will receive payment after donating. Further donations will then be scheduled.

To participate in the plasma donation program, you can follow these steps:

STEP 1 – Complete the Qualification Form and Contact Daxia.

STEP 2 –

If you meet the requirements to participate, you will be scheduled to visit our FDA-regulated plasma collection facility. We adhere to the highest FDA standards, and all materials used in the plasma collection process are completely sterile and disposed of after each donation.

During the plasmapheresis procedure, your plasma will be collected while your red blood cells are returned to you. This process is similar to donating whole blood through organizations like the Red Cross but without the side effects of feeling dizzy or weak. Your body will naturally replenish the plasma collected by the donation center within 24 hours. The FDA allows individuals to donate plasma up to twice in a seven-day period.

STEP 3 – Right after you donate, you will be given compensation for your contribution, as well as having your travel and lodging expenses covered by Daxia.

STEP 4 – You may continue to donate your plasma if it meets the antibody program requirements set by Daxia.
